Prayer guidelines for the 50 hours of prayer
for the salvation of Muslims, extremists/jihadists included
· Muslims do not know the concept "Father" in relation to Allah. Muslims have 99 names for Allah. But "Father" is not one of them. Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal God as our Heavenly Father to them. (Gal.4:6 - God has send forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba Father!")
· Ishmael was send away by Abraham and grew up without a father. Pray that Christians will live in a way that Muslims can see God as Father and will bring them back into the family of God. (Phil.1:9-11: This I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment...being filled with the fruits of righteousness...)
· In Islam there is no concept of assurance of salvation. Salvation, to them, is something to be deserved by good works. Pray for many to ask the question on how they can be sure about their salvation. (1 Joh.5:13 - These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.) Pray for Christians to reach out to them and sensitively testify to them, and that they will be reached by Christian literature and exposure to Scripture, TV and radio.
· In Islam there is also no forgiveness, but only revenge. Pray that Muslims will experience the forgiveness of sins through atonement sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Heb.9:22 And according to the Law almost all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.)
· Nearly 80% of all Muslims coming to Christ, testify that it all started with a dream or vision of Jesus, healing, signs and wonders and demonic deliverance. (Heb.2:4 - God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.) A significant number of Muslims also said that the way that Christians live has drawn them to Jesus.
Concerning jihadist and terrorist groups
(The IS (Iraq and/Syria), Boko Haram (Nigeria), Al Qaeda, and Al-Shabaab (Somalia) and other jihadist terrorist groups in the Middle East.)
· Most Islamist groups are very clear about the fact that they want to cleanse their nations from all Christians and also all Christians symbols and buildings. Pray that the righteous will not be removed. Do not fret because of evildoers nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness (Ps.37:1-3).
· Pray that all unholy covenants will be revealed and be broken. These are covenants that focus on destroying the church of Jesus Christ, to harm people and are embedded in selfish motives. Many of these covenants are blood covenants and demonically inspired.
· Pray that God will confuse their plans and that all forms of evil unity will be broken: Destroy their schemes, O Lord, confuse their tongues (Ps.55:9).
· Pray that God will destroy their physical weapons, spiritual ideologies and psychological influence they have on people. Make their weapons useless in their hands (Ps.58:7).
· Use these passages to pray very specifically about the spiritual ideologies, unholy covenants, people being blinded/deceived and therefore not being able to see the truth of what is happening: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Cor.10:3-6). The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (Joh.10:10).
· Pray for wicked politicians and leaders of terrorist groups to be removed from power. Blessed be the name of God forever and ever for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. (Dan.2:21).
· Pray that these movements will lose their attraction and that young men and women from other nations will not have the desire to join these extremist groups and movements.
· Pray for the culture of hate & revenge to be broken and that God will give people that will be able to negotiate peace and reconciliation between Sunnis and Shia. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him (Dan.2:21-22).
· Pray that funding for these terrorist activities will stop.
· There are several nations and groups that are secretly trying to benefit from this situation. Pray that these conspiracies will be revealed and stopped.
· Pray for the different nations that are working together to stop all terrorist attacks and evil plans of terrorist and Islamists.
Pray for the church
· Pray for Christians to persevere. Pray that Christians in the Middle East, North Africa, Nigeria and Somalia will persevere in their faith. Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified (1 Pet.4:112-14).
· Pray for their protection: The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them (Ps.34:7). And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst (Zec.2:5).
· Pray for provision of their physical needs. Tens of thousands of Christians in several countries fled their homes and are lacking even the most basic things for physical survival: And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil.4:19).
· Pray that Christians in these countries will boldly and sensitively proclaim Jesus: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).
· Prayer for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church in Iraq and Syria, but also the other nations in the Middle East. Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29-31).
· Pray for the development of a strong prayer network in this region and that God will pour out His Spirit of prayer and supplication on the church. (Zech.12:10)
